  David Casares joined Vicente Capital Partners as a Principal in 2008 after more than 14 years of operating, strategy and general management experience in the distribution, fire and security services and technology services industries.
Prior to joining Vicente Capital, David founded Americo Capital Partners, a strategy consulting firm advising businesses in the food, transportation and advertising industries. Previously, David was a Director at SimplexGrinnell (SG), a $2 billion fire and security services subsidiary of Tyco International, first in acquisitions and strategic planning and later in general management and operations/Six Sigma. While at SG, he launched a new operational improvement initiative involving over 200 process improvements across 120 field offices that resulted in over $23 million in cost savings and improved customer service.
Prior to SG, David was a management consultant with Bain & Co. where he advised senior executives at US and Mexican Fortune 100 companies and private equity firms including: Carlyle Group, Ford, Liverpool Mexico, and Grupo Pulsar on strategic, marketing and operational issues. David began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch.
David earned a BA in Finance from Georgetown University and was recognized as an outstanding scholar athlete on the NCAA football and baseball teams. He also received an MBA from Harvard Business School and was awarded a Robert A. Toigo Foundation Fellowship. David Casares now serves as a Regional Vice President for the Toigo Foundation Alumni Group. In 2003, he was appointed by the Government of Spain to its Hispanic Young Leaders Program (“Jóvenes Líderes Hispanos”), a group dedicated to fostering economic and political ties between Spain and the US. He also served on Houston Mayor Bill White’s Health and Wellness Council and was a founding member of the Houston Wellness Association, chairing the committee on Hispanic Wellness Issues.
